Job Description
The College of Veterinary Medicine invites applicants to apply for the position of Accounting Team Lead. The Center for Agriculture and Food Security and Preparedness (CAFSP) is grant funded by various State and Federal agencies and organizations to develop and deliver effective and engaging training content for adult learners. The individual filling this position will work closely with the Associate Director of Operations by providing short and long term strategic and capital planning and projections. Also, individual will serve as a liaison with outside contractors and funding agencies: this position will manage and monitor both contractors and award fundings expenditures of each funding agency so the center is in compliance with the funding agency's rules and regulations and UT policy. Individual will advise and provide assistance to the Associate Director of Operations on internal and external contracts. This position will lead the accounting staff and supervise accounting student workers.


Responsibilities
  • Individual will be the team leader for the accounting staff for all accounting processes: lead work related to reviewing expenditures, invoices, payroll, contracts, travels (both domestic and international), purchase orders, prepare periodic cost reports on contracts and subcontract awards and prepare reports for purposes of planning and annual grant review.
  • Assist the Associate Director of Operation with proposal, grant writing, providing financial assistance to SMEs, be the liaison between the Center and external vendors/independent contractors and other Departments, ensure that the policies and procedures of UT are adhered to by all concerns and the practices of the Center are not in conflict with UT policies and procedures.
  • Individual will supervise student workers, assign task and manage their work. Student workers will report directly to this position.
  • Be the team leader for staff responsible for the center's database, the Center's Learning Management System to ensure all systems are functioning correctly and uploading of the center's post course delivery data. Provides work direction to others who may assist with these duties including curriculum staff, logistics team, other UT departments and external independent contractors. Communicate with the logistics team to make sure that all logistics needs are met for a successful course delivery. Communicates with instructors, external subject matter experts, and collaborators from other agencies and universities as necessary. Coordinates with College instructional resource staff regarding all media needs to support training program. Finally individual will lead programing staff responsible for post course information to funding agency's database system.
  • Be the team leader for staff responsible for office supply and program supplies inventory. Provide oversight on the databases and monitoring system for the center's course delivery equipment, office equipment, and software.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field with 2 years financial/accounting experience. Department will also accept Associates Degree with 4 years of financial/accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field with 1-3 years of experience working in an adult training environment. Experience with online course and web design and development and student information systems or database systems. 3-5 years accounting/finance experience to include experience working with a database system preferably DASH. Experience with online courses, registration systems, international experience, as well as, working in a multi-disciplinary teams would be beneficial. Knowledge of DASH, Excel, and UT Fiscal policies and procedures.
