Job Description
The College of Nursing (CON) at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, seeks Admissions Specialist who supports the College's enrollment goals by guiding prospective students through the admissions process. This position ensures that applicants receive accurate and timely information on admission requirements, program options, financial aid, and career pathways, helping them make informed decisions about their nursing education


Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for students regarding admissions and support the entire admissions process, from initial inquiry, application, admission decision and communication, post-acceptance and enrollment to prospective student support.
  • Reviews, verifies and assesses admissions applications and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Follow-up on missing or deficient information (to include transcripts, test scores, other required materials, etc.).
  • Subject matter expert for NurseCAS; Investigates and resolves any processing issues with students and the third-party platform.
  • Review applications based on established admission criteria, autonomously determine which applications to admit/decline, and deliver appropriate admission decisions to students.
  • Responsible for creating, updating, and improving all communication to students about admission.
  • Track application statuses and send decision letters (e.g., acceptance or denial).
  • Review course equivalencies and work closely with the Transfer Center to resolve discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts within educational and professional communities.



Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field
  • Experience in academic advising, admissions, recruitment or a related field
  • Experience in public speaking or presenting to large groups.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in education, counseling, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of directly related work experience


Work Location: Knoxville, TN - onsite - hybrid available after satisfactory probation period satisfied and at the discretion of the Dean.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • UT market range: MR06
  • Anticipated hiring range: $45,000 - $47,000
